As soon as Jessica from Fit and Crafty saw a beautiful stacked base lamp on Pinterest, she was in love! Unfortunately, the link led her straight to a $600 price tag, which was much too pricey for her budget. That just meant a DIY was in order, which wasn’t a problem for Jessica who had tackled lamp sockets in the past. Jessica tracked down some free firewood on Craigslist, sliced up the logs, and turned them into a set of stylish lamps.
Decorate Me Diana was shopping at the Pottery Barn Outlet when she came across an amazing round rope mirror that she was sure she could replicate. I mean there’s nothing too difficult about gluing rope around a mirror, right? I love Diana’s even more than PB’s. The little anchor detail she added to the bottom makes it over-the-top cute for her son’s nautical-themed bedroom!
When Anthropologie sold out of a “swoon-worthy” butterfly dishtowel, Katie from Henry Happened found a way to recreate the look. From the water-color butterflies to the stitching detail to the pom-pom trim, Katie did not leave out a detail. Oh, and she did it all without sewing a thing! This towel is a lovely decorative piece for the kitchen and, like Katie says, “would make luxe gifts to have on hand for the holiday season!”
I just love this project from Ahna at Easier Than I Thought because it’s a true example of seeing potential and beauty where others see trash. Ahna took an ugly (and I mean UGLY) old rocker and turned it into a thing of beauty. Literally, it looks like it could be sitting right in Restoration Hardware’s catalog with its nailhead trim, gray-washed finish, and textural linen-like fabric. Michelle from Iron & Twine calls herself a “sucker for festive table linens” and found a way to make an inexpensive set of fall napkins that feature a teepee motif. All Michelle had to do was play around with her design until she found one she liked and then trace it onto her napkins with a fabric marker. She says, “This DIY is so easy ~ if you can draw a triangle, you can do this project!”
