Sharpie Art Flower Coffee Mug

Heather from Woods of Bell Trees bought a European-made mug from Home Goods that she absolutely loved but knew needed a little oomph to take it to the next level. Out came the Sharpies! Heather first lightly penciled on her design and then went over it with an oil-based Sharpie, adding details as she went. Oh, the wonders of Sharpie art!

Industrial Wood Letters with Metal Trim

I am just loving this knock off from the gals over at Lolly Jane! Kelli wanted to recreate the look of vintage industrial letters for less than $15 PER letter. Yes, that gets pricey! Amazing, she got all the look of wood and metal without using wood and metal. I never would have guessed it, but the “wood” is simply patterned scrapbook paper and the “metal” silver glitter tape. That means scissors are the only tool needed! Nicely done, Ladies!

Painted Burlap Wall Décor

When Jeanette from Country Design Style gets a home décor catalog in the mail, she’s a lady on a mission – scouring the pages for ideas, tearing out pictures, and carefully storing them away in her file box. It was on one such occasion that Jeanette came across metal artwork that reminded her of a lamp from her grandmother’s old farm house. Of course, she had to have it – well, a DIY version that is! Jeanette put her own spin on the artwork by recreating the design with paint on burlap and customizing it to fit above her mantel.

When Life Hands You a Bag of Driftwood, Make a Wreath!

Heather from New House New Home was out thrifting when she came across a bag full of driftwood for five dollars. Heather snatched it up knowing exactly what she’d make with it – a driftwood wreath just like the $100+ model sold at Restoration Hardware. It was as easy as firing up the hot glue gun and layering the pieces onto a wreath ring. I love the organic beauty of driftwood!

Revamped Wood and Metal Office Shelves

Bridget from Windgate Lane needed to maximize the storage space in her office, yet the small bookshelves she currently had were simply not cutting it. After being inspired by wood and metal shelves from West Elm, Bridget decided to revamp her existing shelves for a cleaner look and larger size. She was able to reuse the metal supports so it only took new lumber and some spray paint to get the job done!
