Land of the Free Because of the Brave
Today I want to remember the brave men and women who fought and gave their lives for our country. I am so grateful for their ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms as Americans. Thank you!

Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs knew exactly what to do with a tree that had fallen down in her backyard – turn it into a shapely, hand-chiseled accent table! Sarah enlisted the help of her husband David, and the couple worked together to remove the bark, cut angles into the stump, sand it smooth, and finally finish it off with paint and glaze. Like Sarah, I love how the glaze brings out the detail of the wood!
Tara from Suburble shares at Crafts Unleashed how she added interest to an otherwise plain white pillow in less than an hour. Tara had long admired Anthropologie’s tassel pillow but immediately knew she could try her hand at it. It was just easy as she thought using tassels designed for jewelry-making. All Tara had to do was sew them onto the pillow edge with white thread, and VOILA – instant pizzazz!
A mirrored frame mat? Like Angelica from My Dear Irene, you may be thinking you’ve seen all kinds of matting but never one that looks like a mirror. Angelica loved the idea so much she made her own with Looking Glass spray paint. Angelica actually sprayed right on the glass, simply leaving the middle where the picture goes unpainted. Angelica says thanks to a little trick of her own the unpainted portion came out perfectly. Would you ever believe that crystal clear reflection came from a can?!?
Ashley from Bigger Than the Three of Us is in the midst of a kitchen remodel. Even though the decorating part is still a ways away, Ashley says she can’t help thinking and dreaming about that fun part. Ashley ended up falling hard for a white minimalist clock from West Elm and was able to recreate it using a plate. The curve of the plate mimics the look of West Elm’s clock to perfection and makes for such an easy DIY!
