Faux Malachite Obelisks

May 2, 2015 By Beckie

Mark Montano loves malachite, but since it traditionally costs thousands of dollars, it is slightly out of his price range. Mark found a brilliant and frugal way to replicate it using just cardboard, newspaper, and a simple painting technique. He says, “These are perfect for a desk or bookshelf and if done right, people will think you’re rolling in dough!”

DIY Home Decor Faux Malachite Obelisks

Mark was inspired by the 19th Century Russian Malachite and Gilt Bronze Obelisks from 1st Dibs.
