Best of PB #2: Wooden Tray to Hanging Jewelry Organizer

Melissa from A Time for Everything created this vintage piece to hold all of her jewelry. Melissa said, “I love old wood spools and finding new ways to use them, especially after finding a large Ziploc bagful for $2 at a garage sale. As I was making my jewelry organizer, I knew that spools would be an ideal fit with the burlap and distressed wood I was using. I incorporated them to hang not only necklaces, but bracelets as well.”

Her original inspiration came from the Spool Hooks found in the Pottery Barn magazine a while back (no longer available in store).

This is such a great idea and I can't wait to try it out! But I have one question. What did you do with the back of the earrings? Just put them all in one of the boxes?

What size is this box? And what did you use as the back drop? Foam board? Cork bord?

Melissa repurposed a tray for the box. Click on the link (http://www.atimeforeverything.net/2010/02/hanging-jewelry-storage-made-from-trays.html) for the detailed tutorial and to contact her directly. Thanks for reading!

Brogan, those are little paper mache boxes from Michaels, without the lids. I painted them and added the bookplates.
