Distressed Mantel Shelf

Heather from Sweet Number 9 immediately fell in love with a distressed wall ledge from Pottery Barn the moment she saw it. It was exactly what she needed to fill empty wall space that had been driving her crazy. Heather and her husband devised a plan to build their own shelf with some lumber and decorative molding. Their knock off is absolutely stunning and has become an immediate statement piece on the once annoyingly blank wall!

Easy Animal Canvas Wall Art

Megan from Our Pinteresting Family wanted to fill a small space in her baby’s nursery and found some adorable animal prints from Land of Nod that she loved. Instead of spending $100 for the set of four, Megan created her own for $8 TOTAL! She simply used Mod Podge to adhere scrapbook paper to her canvases and then animal silhouettes she cut with her Silhouette. The whole project took only 20 minutes with some drying time in between!

Planked Wood United States Wall Map

I’ve got a couple of DIY wall art projects to share with you today, and the main ingredient in both is wood – planked, stained, and beautiful wood! First, Aimee from The Vintage Estate got an order from a customer for a large planked wood United States map similar to one sold by Pottery Barn. Her hubs built a large sign from 1x4s, and Aimee then used a projector to trace the outline and paint it in. Talk about a unique focal point!
