DIY Textured Canvas Wall Art

Heather from What Does She Do All Day put her creativity to work to make a statement art piece for above her mantel. This is such a simple design that I believe anyone could replicate, artist or not. However, it still packs a lot of punch with bold color and texture. Heather walks you through the steps she took to create it and how she pulled it off for around twenty bucks!

Abstract Sea Paintings for a Peaceful Powder Room

Tamara of Provident Home Designs was inspired to include a pair of abstract sea paintings in her recent powder room makeover. She loved the calming blue, gray, and gold color palette but didn’t have the money or space for Ballard’s ginormous $449 paintings. Tamara walks you through the steps to making your own paintings for way less. My fave part is how she used tissue paper to create texture on her canvas and incorporate pops of gold. Simply beautiful!

Best of PB #9: Large Multipanel Mantel Mirror

Amanda from A Creative Beginning needed a big ol’ mirror to cover a hole above her mantel. Her Pottery Barn inspiration fit the bill, but Amanda could not find a tutorial that actually recreated its exact size. What’s a girl to do but create her own? I’d say her mirror forms a pretty amazing focal point for the room!
