Framed Script Art

Sonny from 155 Dream Lane had to look twice when she came across a framed farm log from Williams-Sonoma that cost over $1,000. The kicker is that it’s just a print! Craziness. Instead of dropping a mortgage payment, Sonny grabbed a frame from her yard sale stash and some script wrapping paper she had and made a similar piece of artwork. With all the pretty papers out there, what a great idea to turn them into wall art!

Eye Chart Wall Art

Like Rhiannon from Being Mom{me}, you probably don’t want to drop $80 for a piece of wall art, especially when your style might change next month, and even more especially when you can make it yourself for nothing! Rhiannon simply designed her own eye chart art on her computer, printed it out at home, and placed it in a frame she already had. Done! I love this saying and agree with one of Rhiannon’s readers that it would make an adorable wedding gift!

Paper and Linen Wall Art

After staring at four blank dining room walls for over a year, Jessica from Stay at Home-ista was finally inspired to create her own artwork that would fill the walls but wouldn’t take a huge bite out of her wallet. Using frames from Ikea, linen, and handmade paper, Jessica managed to create four very large pieces  for less than $200. I love how the paper designs Jessica selected coordinate but all have their own flair. You’ll have to pop over to Jessica’s site to see all four!

Book Page Tree Art

Brooke from Inside-Out Design was thrilled when she saw tree art made from book pages while walking through a West Elm store. She loved the look and knew she could easily replicate it with a canvas and a book she didn’t mind dedicating to the cause. Brooke suggests using pages from different books to incorporate a variety of text sizes, fonts, and paper shades.

Vintage Framed Map

With a love for all things Restoration Hardware, Kenz of Interiors By Kenz turned to their antique maps as inspiration for her own piece of map art. Kenz created her large map by printing it on multiple sheets of paper and then adhering the parts to a piece of plywood. She finished up by plucking some wood from her fence to use for the frame. (I’m loving that resourcefulness!) Would you believe this amazing piece of framed map art cost Kenz nothing… nada… the big goose egg???
