Campaign Chest Nightstand with DIY Metal Base

Yesterday, the very talented Sarah M. Dorsey shared at Infarrantly Creative how she constructed a metal base to turn a campaign chest into the perfect little nightstand for her bedside. When you hear metal base, you may think welding is in involved. However, Sarah offers a simpler solution using strips of aluminum. This is a brilliant way to add “legs” and height to a chest or even build your own coffee table like Sarah did last summer. Everything the girl touches is gold I tell ya!

Entryway Storage Console That Has It All!

Thanks to Jaime from That’s My Letter and Ana White, you can build your own entry console with tons of hidden storage. I couldn’t agree with Jaime more when she says, “This console has it all: drawers, open shelving, baskets and bins… Personally I want concealed storage that’s easily accessible for my 3 kids but still neat looking and segregated so each child has their own designated basket and bin.” Jaime spent less than 1/4 of retail price (not including shipping charges!) and was able to modify the dimensions to not waste an inch of space and finish in her choice of color. Booya!

Planked Wood United States Wall Map

I’ve got a couple of DIY wall art projects to share with you today, and the main ingredient in both is wood – planked, stained, and beautiful wood! First, Aimee from The Vintage Estate got an order from a customer for a large planked wood United States map similar to one sold by Pottery Barn. Her hubs built a large sign from 1x4s, and Aimee then used a projector to trace the outline and paint it in. Talk about a unique focal point!
