DIY Wooden Octagon Dining Table

The very first piece of furniture that Ashley from Shanty 2 Chic built for her gorgeous new home is this octagon-shaped table. It’s a six-seater and only cost… wait for it… $110 to build! Just to put it into perspective, the Pottery Barn inspiration retails for $1,899 before tax and shipping. The octagon shape is easier to build than a round table yet still fits Ashley’s breakfast nook to perfection. Wanna build your own? Ana White drew up the plans for this baby and shares them for FREE!

Huge Galvanized Steel Magnetic Calendar

Katie of The Shabby Cottage Home created her own mondo-sized magnetic calendar from a piece of galvanized metal. She had the most fun cutting numbers and symbols, like a cake to represent a birthday and ballet slippers for her daughter’s lessons, from magnet sheets. This would make it SO easy to plan out your month, and even your kids could have fun planning out their schedules with the magnets.
