Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust just completed the latest addition to her “Jewel Box” guest room – an upholstered bench that she planned and built herself! Kristen saved money on materials by using foam from clearance IKEA cushions and some scrap wood pieces. I love how Kristen always finds ways to save money while still producing gorgeous results!
Debbie at Me and My DIY again shows how simple it is to make a stylish wall clock without breaking the bank. Debbie’s Pottery Barn inspired clock began its humble life on a shelf at Wal-mart. Debbie took it from ordinary to eye catching by inserting it into a wood frame she constructed from leftover boards.
Here’s a blast from the past from one of my fave repurposing gurus around, Gail of My Repurposed Life. Gail turned an old crib rail into a laundry drying rack like Ballard’s ever- popular wall-mounted racks. Of course it wouldn’t escape Gail’s notice that those crib rungs are perfectly suited for their new life!
The second Nikki from Tikkido saw pictures of the striking paper flower backdrop from Chanel’s Spring 2009 show she knew she wanted to recreate it. Happily, she did! And it only cost her about $15. Nikki says, “It was perfect as a backdrop for the party I was designing, and now has a second life as a gorgeous, large scale art piece in my home.”
