Recessed Light to Pendant Light

With a kitchen full of recessed lighting, Jessie from Imperfectly Polished had been dreaming of adding pendants above her island. After some research, she and her husband figured out how to convert one of the lights into a 3-light hanging pendant. They built a rustic beam and used Edison bulbs with glass vases as pendants to add some personality.

Alphabet Lazy Susan

Sherry from Pondered Primed Perfected scored a free lazy Susan at a garage sale when the owner happily threw it in with Sherry’s other findings. There was no way Sherry would turn down an opportunity to find a way to turn it into something fabulous, and, of course, she doesn’t disappoint! The once old, tired lazy Susan now has a smart new look with a bold alphabet design around the rim.

Decorative Wood Sphere

The thrifty lady over at Fifty Five South was inspired to amp up her use of decorative accessories that reflect the rustic, earthy style she loves. When she saw an “incredibly easy and cheap West Elm knock-off DIY project” that involved layering embroidery hoops to make a sphere, she couldn’t help but “pounce” on it. The hoops only cost her $2.20, making this a project that can’t be beat when it comes to ease or expense.

Black and White Fabric Lampshade

Judy from Gracious Southern Living wanted to make a few changes in her foyer to create a more accurate reflection of the rest of her home. Loving the contrast of black and white, Judy covered a drum shade she already had with a checked fabric. The shape of the drum shade made this a super simple task, and the addition of trim around the edges really gives it a finished look.
