Decorative AND Functional Wall Cubbies

You may remember the DIY potting bench I shared a few weeks ago that marked Susan from Between Naps on the Porch’s debut in the world of woodworking. Well, Susan is back with another build – a cubby organizer that she built for her office following plans from Ana White. Susan encountered a few bumps along the way and shares everything she learned for those of you who want to build your own. With a savings of over $100 from the Pottery Barn inspiration, Susan says she can “see why this building stuff is so addictive!”

Reupholstered Deconstructed Ottoman

After attempting to recover an ottoman that she received from her sister, Jen from The Yellow Brick Cottage nearly gave up and threw it through the window. However, a search on several of her favorite furniture sites turned up an ottoman that Jen knew she could recreate and add her own style and personal touches to. I admire Jen’s ability to adapt and switch gears when her original plan was not panning out. She did an amazing job achieving that deconstructed look and ended up with a piece she can love and enjoy!

Mid-Century Modern 6-Drawer Dresser

Lindsay from Makely School for Girls knew just the dresser she wanted for her daughter’s bedroom – mid-century modern style with clean lines and cool legs. The great news? She found EXACTLY what she had been envisioning at Crate & Barrel. The bad news? It was $1,600. Fortunately, there’s more great news! Lindsay’s friend Rayan from The Design Confidential drew up plans for the dresser, Lindsay’s hubs built the bad boy, and Lindsay finished it with extra high gloss white paint and stain. Talk about team work and a beeeautiful dresser!
