After featuring Jessica from Mad in Crafts’ amazing globe pendant light this morning, I couldn’t help but share what else she’d been up as a part of her blue, yellow, and gray dining room makeover. Jessica wanted to make unique wall art for the space and did just that by creating a collage from plates and a poster. And just in case you’re not already sold, Jessica says, “This knock-off is super simple, costs very little to make, and requires only basic crafting skills to accomplish. Win-win-win!”

When Erica from Craftivity Designs fell in love with a $600 piece of artwork from Anthropologie, she decided to break out her pastels and recreate it. The steps are as simple as drawing circles and then adding dimension by blending the colors with your finger. I love that Erica got the bright colors and modern design she loved about the inspiration without having to spend a cent!

Melanie from It Happens in a Blink is in the process of sprucing up and redecorating a few rooms in her home… all at the same time. With a preschooler and triplets, I can only imagine Melanie needs all the quick and easy projects she can get. Fortunately, this wooden wall sign she made fits the bill in terms of time and money. By using a free pallet and common crafting supplies, Melanie created her sign with practically no expense!

As soon as Anita of Inspired Passions stumbled upon RH Baby & Child’s framed airplane blueprint, she knew it would be perfect for her son’s room. However, she also knew it would be foolish to spend so much on it when she’ll probably redecorate in a year or two. Instead, Anita created her own vintage airplane art using a wood drawer, canvas paper, and leftover quarter round. I love how Anita repurposed the wood from the drawer for her sign!

This morning I shared a sunburst mirror that was created with wood shims. Katie from Upcycled Treasures also used the handy little sticks to create décor for her walls. She painted, cut, and pieced together her shims to make a large piece of framed wood art. Katie strategically placed her new artwork over a metal door in her hallway that was quite the eyesore. Don’t you love the texture of the uneven shims?
