Flower Petal Pillow for a Little Girl’s Room

Jann from Newton Custom Interiors has been busy making pillows for the double bed her granddaughter will soon be graduating to. She fell for a petal pillow that’s full of texture and knew the fun, girly style would be perfect for the bed. Jan lovingly cut out and stitched 160 little circles to make this pretty pillow for granddaughter and says it was definitely worth it. How sweet is that?!?

DIY Acrylic Drawer Pulls

Sawdust Girl contributor Julie wanted to bring “some sparkle and old Hollywood glam” to her side of the master bathroom and decided acrylic drawer pulls were the way to go. However, they were crazy expensive… like hundreds of dollars for ONE pull expensive! Julie got resourceful and borrowed pieces from some bargain drawer pulls to attach to acrylic rods. Throw in some basic hardware, glue, and spray paint, and Julie got snazzy new drawer pulls that look waaay more expensive than they actually were!

Painted Lamps for a Pop of Color

Angie of Angie’s Roost wanted to add a pair of task lamps to her work area, but the West Elm ones she was eyeing were too tall and, not surprisingly, too expensive. She found a shorter, more budget-friendly version at Target; however, they didn’t offer the bold color choices that Angie found appealing. That’s nothing a can of spray paint couldn’t fix! Angie gave her lamps a paint job “a la West Elm” and says the hardest part of the project was deciding on a color.

Industrial Pipe Curtain Rod

If you don’t follow me on Infarrantly Creative, then let me say that you’ve been missing out! I recently participated in a 30-day room makeover in which I transformed my son’s bedroom into an eclectic yet personal space. To carry the industrial vibe from his new DIY hanging wood and pipe bed to the windows, I created a curtain rod from pipes for only $20. As an added bonus, the friendly folks at Lowes even cut the pipe for me making this a pretty simple project. It really adds to the space, and, in my opinion, is waaay cooler than your run-of-the-mill curtain rod.
