When Lisa of Salt Marsh Cottage saw Ballard Designs’ Messina Dining Table, she knew it was almost perfect. Besides the $900 price tag, the table was rectangular while Lisa needed an oval shape. She stalked Craigslist for an oval table that she could transform and, amazingly, bought one along with six chairs and an extra leaf for a total of $100! Talk about a steal! Lisa then developed a paint technique to mimic the zinc top and painted the legs and apron with homemade chalk paint. She couldn’t be happier with the way it came out–not to mention a savings of almost $800!

Marie from Blooming Homestead loved the look of Ballard’s seagrass hurricanes so much she headed straight to the craft store for glass jars and sisal rope to make her own. Marie shares at I Heart Nap Time how she wove the rope and then attached it to the glasses armed with just her glue gun. These hurricanes are a seasonal decorators dream! Marie says she can’t wait to add succulents in the spring and sand and shells in the summer.

That’s $9 for a tablecloth that will never go out of style, as evidenced by the fact that Ballard is still selling the exact same one years later. Laura from Finding Home knew she needed to find a storage solution for her ribbon hoard collection. She already had a wire basket organizer in her basement that was fully functional but lacking in the style department. That Laura could take care of! She scoured the internet for inspiration and came up with the perfect plan to transform her plain wire drawers into an industrial-looking wood and metal cabinet. Isn’t it amazing what a bit of paint and wood can do?!?

A lover of seaside decor, Traci at Inspiring Homestyle was inspired to turn some bottles and shells she already had into decorative pieces for her home. Using hot glue, Traci secured her seashells with pointed ends into the openings of the glass bottles. Then to finish it off, she wrapped natural rope yarn around the top of each bottle. A bit more hot glue and viola! Quick, easy, inexpensive, and beautiful accessories!
