Ruffled Duvet Cover from Sheets

Sarah from Neroli Blossoms sewed sheets into a duvet cover that’s so voluminous it reminds me of a puffy, white cloud! While this project may be pretty time consuming, Sarah says it’s not too difficult and requires fairly simple sewing skills. I can imagine the end result makes it worth those hours spent sitting at the sewing machine. I mean how could you not have sweet dreams in this bed???

DIY Decoupage Bird Art

Honor from Home Heart Craft loves all of Anthropologie’s pretties but often finds herself gawking at their crazy prices. Like over a thousand dollars for a 10” by 10” piece of artwork… how’s that for crazy?!? Honor decided to create her own original artwork using tracing paper, Mod Podge, and a frame. Honor’s little trick of using the tracing paper makes it look like the birdie was painted right onto the old atlas pages.

Colorfully Coiled Art Supply Cups

As most of us are probably aware, creativity is often accompanied by a mess. Lucy from Craftberry Bush decided to bring some of her creative clutter under control by making Anthropologie-inspired coiled cups to hold her art supplies. Lucy wrapped yarn around cording to create a long strand with alternating colors and then hot glued it around tin cans. Aren’t these so pretty? Who would think a pencil holder would ever add this much interest to a space?!?

Repurpose Plastic Animals into Pushpins

If you have kids, you have undoubtedly acquired a set of little plastic animals somewhere along the way. Lora from Craftivity Designs shares a great project for upcycling the toys into fun pushpins that would add pizzazz to any corkboard. Lora spray painted her animals a crisp white, but I also think they’d be a great way to incorporate a pop of color into a space. It makes you look at your kids’ toys in a whole new light when you envision them with a coat of spray paint {giggle}!
