Shawna from Dakota Creek Chic found an antique factory cart at a local antique store and knew she could build her own version of the Restoration Hardware table that was out of her budget at 1000 bucks. Shawna used Ana White’s plans as a rough guide but was fortunate to already have the cart (that happened to have awesome casters) to use as a base. Here’s what Shawna has to say about her third big project: “This was an easy build, taking only one afternoon to finish. It’s so worth it, and I just love how it turned out. Melanie from It Happens in a Blink is in the process of sprucing up and redecorating a few rooms in her home… all at the same time. With a preschooler and triplets, I can only imagine Melanie needs all the quick and easy projects she can get. Fortunately, this wooden wall sign she made fits the bill in terms of time and money. By using a free pallet and common crafting supplies, Melanie created her sign with practically no expense!

As soon as Anita of Inspired Passions stumbled upon RH Baby & Child’s framed airplane blueprint, she knew it would be perfect for her son’s room. However, she also knew it would be foolish to spend so much on it when she’ll probably redecorate in a year or two. Instead, Anita created her own vintage airplane art using a wood drawer, canvas paper, and leftover quarter round. I love how Anita repurposed the wood from the drawer for her sign!

Jaime from That’s My Letter recently moved into a truly vintage home, a circa 1740 saltbox style farmhouse to be exact. Talk about a project playground! When faced with the expense of needing to replace ALL of the interior light fixtures, Jaime came up with a more budget-friendly version of the trendy Edison bulb sconces for her pool room. The style is the perfect addition to an old home with so much history and character.

I am not the only one to recently jump on the starburst mirror bandwagon. Debbie from One Day at a Time also recognized the popularity of these mirrors and wanted to get in on the fun. Debbie combined elements from a couple of her faves from Crate& Barrel to come up with a unique design that would work in her “1951 post-war cape cottage.” Debbie’s bronze-and-gold beauty was created using floral stakes, glue, and an octagon mirror for even more “50’s flair.”
