Metallic Gold Orb Chandelier

Bloggy buddies Jen from Tatertots and Jello and Shelley from House of Smiths were in agreement that they both wanted to add orb chandeliers to their homes… and that they didn’t want to spend hundreds and even thousands on a store-bought fixture. What are creative, resourceful gals to do? Make their own of course! The lovely ladies collaborated on the materials and basic construction but then put their own unique spins on the chandies. Jen created a larger chandelier with a glamorous metallic gold finish. Talk about fabulous!

Fork and Spoon Kitchen Wall Art

Anita from Inspired Passions loves all things Pottery Barn and says she would move into the store if possible! She loved their fork and spoon canvases, but sadly they were out of budget and too big for her tiny kitchen. Anita created a more appropriately sized (and priced!) version with a canvas, carbon paper, and a black pastel. Anita says, “I had a lot of fun doing this project, and it looks really cute in the kitchen!”

How to Paint a Duvet Cover

Over the past few days, I have shared a painted hand towel, painted pillow cover, and painted tablecloth. Why not throw a painted duvet cover into the lineup of fabulous fabric painting projects?!? Jackie of Teal & Lime contributing at 4 Men 1 Lady shares how she transformed a plain white duvet cover and sham by using fabric paint to give it a bold, graphic pattern. The result is just as beautiful as pricey bedding but for less than half the price!

Paint Stripes on a Fabric Tablecloth

I have another painted fabric project for you today. You know I am going to have you all painting fabric in no time! Ha! When it came time for a striped-themed project challenge, Leigh Anne of Your Homebased Mom already had a striped tablecloth in mind that she wanted to replicate. She grabbed a plain white tablecloth and a bottle of textile paint and got rolling. Here’s from Leigh Anne: “…it looks perfect on my patio table. Fun, festive and ready for a party. I think I need one in another color now.”

Geometric Pieced Wood Wall Art

For only “$15 and an afternoon of work,” Ashley from Shanty 2 Chic created a stunning piece of wooden art for her wall. I love how this pallet style art combines modern and rustic with the geometric design, natural wood grain, and distressed edges. Talk about a great scrap buster project if you’ve got some extra plywood and boards in your garage.
