Christmas Countdown Advent Pillow

Today I have another fun Christmas pillow to share with ya’ll, and it’s one your kids will love too. Kimberly from Serendipity Refined sewed this Christmas countdown pillow as a gift for her sister’s family and even add a few personal touches, like a monogram on the star and her kiddo’s favorite question this time of year – How many days? How many times have you heard that lately?!? Ha! My kids would have a blast moving the star each day until Christmas!

Thirty-Minute Ornament Wreath

This morning I shared an ornament garland Melissa of The Happier Homemaker created for her front door. Did you also spy the ornament wreath hanging there in all its red and silver glory? Of course, Melissa made that too, and it’s another knock-off. Woot woot! Here’s what Melissa says about her snazzy new wreath: “I loved an ornament wreath I found at Home Depot, but it wasn’t available in the exact colors I wanted. I was able to DIY my own for under $20. The best part was it took less than 30 minutes to make!”

Wood Slice Coasters with Sayings

A few weeks ago Shauna from Satori Design for Living was looking at West Elm’s new market and came across some adorable wooden drink coasters. They reminded Shauna of wood slice ornaments she had previously made, and she just so happened to have some wood pieces leftover. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a DIY! Not only did Shauna need a set of coasters for her basement family room, but she also whipped some up to give away as gifts.

Fresh-from-the-Front-Yard Boxwood Wreath

Inspired by a boxwood wreath at Home Depot, Mari from crab+fish used clippings from the boxwoods in her landscaping to make a DIY version. She says, “It was the Holy Grail of quick, cheap, and easy to do. The clippings were free and the cost of the wreath frame and bow (dollar store!) were nominal.” And you don’t have to limit yourself to boxwoods. Mari suggests checking out the foliage in your yard and getting creative!

Punched Tin Can Ornament with Light

Lauren from The Thinking Closet purchased one of Crate & Barrel’s Hakkari Candle Holders last fall and was inspired to create her own version, but ornament-style! Lauren repurposed an old tin can and shares tips for creating a punched design without indenting the can. To get the soft, glowing effect, Lauren just inserted a Christmas light from the tree. She says, “It’s one of my favorite creations…and is a really inexpensive way to get a high-end look!”
