Corey of Tiny Sidekick loves West Elm. Recently, she was browsing their store for inspiration and fell in love with the Wood Tripod Floor Lamp but didn’t have $250 dollars to spend. Corey says, “So my creative brain was in overdrive. I love the simplicity of this lamp and knew with a bit of planning I could recreate it for much less. So that is what I did! There are a few minor differences of course, but the end result is exactly what I was going for. Simple, clean, oh, and a light source!

We’ve all seen a painted rug or two but how about a Sharpie rug? Katie from Upcycled Treasures had been looking for the perfect rug to fit her new creative space AND her tight budget. Katie couldn’t believe her eyes when she found a 5×7 rug at Lowes for only $25. She quickly snatched it up and recreated a Moroccan design using a couple of Sharpies and cardboard cutouts. All I can say is, “WOW!”

Cheryl from Snaps of Ginger is the proud new owner of a Silhouette Cameo, and it sure didn’t take her long to realize what a wonder this machine is! One of her recent projects was creating these beautiful gold-tipped feathers. At first look, you’d never guess they are just plain old paper! With the metallic gold detailing Cheryl added with paint, they look totally glam.

For her daughter’s birthday party, Randi of Dukes & Duchesses didn’t let her guests leave empty-handed! Randi personalized mugs for each of her daughter’s friends using a glass paint marker and even filled them with coffee-flavored candies for a sweet treat. These may just be dollar store mugs, but the monogram really adds a special touch and would make your guests feel like you went the extra mile for them!

Lindsey from Impatiently Crafty LOVES classic schoolhouse lights but sure doesn’t want to pay $200 a piece for them. She has become a master a refurbishing old lights found on Ebay and at salvage stores for much cheaper. With a light sanding, coat of spray paint, and new wiring, they look just like the ones found at high end stores like Restoration Hardware!
