Hanging Kitchen Lanterns

Kristen from Lipstick and Sawdust had been wanting to add lanterns to her kitchen for years. The dream finally become a reality with the help of some clearance lanterns from TJ Maxx. Kristen partnered the lanterns with the electrical components from two secondhand brass light fixtures to create her pendants. The lanterns are exactly what Kristen envisioned for the space and really dress up her kitchen!

Framed Skeleton Keys

Instead of paying $99 for framed skeleton keys, Angie from The Country Chic Cottage suggests stalking secondhand stores to make these beauties at a fraction of the cost. A mere fraction of the cost. Like $7 for two instead of $200! Angie pulled it off by pairing a set of reproduction skeleton keys she found at the flea market with thrift store frames. I love how they came out!

Subway Train Art

As soon as Rachel from Holy Craft saw a large framed painting at a garage sale, visions of Restoration Hardware’s classy subway art swirled in her head. She whipped out the paint and vinyl to transform the artwork into a piece she can truly love. And would you believe it cost less than $5 total??? That’s an amazing steal for such a large piece of artwork, especially when you consider the $550 price tag of Rachel’s inspiration!

Refinished Bed with Weathered Finish

When it came time to convert her son’s nursery to a “big boy” room, Meesh from imeeshu opted for a queen bed so there’d be plenty of room for story time cuddles. She found a glossy white bed on Craigslist and used her own technique for recreating the beautiful weathered finish that’s signature of Restoration Hardware’s pieces. The look is perfect for a little boy’s room, and this whole space basically knocks my socks off. Amazing job, Meesh!

Gold Framed Sketches

Mekenzie’s love for Restoration Hardware runs pretty deep, and she’s had many successes at replicating the look without the cost. She shares her latest and greatest over at Interiors by Kenz – gold-framed wall art. What I love about Kenz’s knockoff is that she incorporated her own love for aviation by framing Leonardo Da Vinci sketches of flying machines, making her art stylish, meaningful, and cheap!
