Sister Wall Sign from a Pallet

Melanie from It Happens in a Blink is in the process of sprucing up and redecorating a few rooms in her home… all at the same time. With a preschooler and triplets, I can only imagine Melanie needs all the quick and easy projects she can get. Fortunately, this wooden wall sign she made fits the bill in terms of time and money. By using a free pallet and common crafting supplies, Melanie created her sign with practically no expense!

Build Your Own Kids Armoire

Here’s the latest DIY furniture addition to her daughter’s big girl room from Whitney at Shanty 2 Chic. Whitney followed plans from Ana White to construct this gorgeous armoire that is jam packed with storage. The inside has both shelves and drawers so there’s plenty of room for clothes, toys, and even a television. My favorite part is that you can simply shut the doors to hide away any mess. That’s my favorite way to clean {wink}!

Wood Twin Bed

With a baby who is no longer baby, Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic knew it was time to convert her daughter’s room from a nursery to a big girl room. First up, was a big girl bed that Whitney literally whipped up in one day following plans from Ana White. Whitney’s favorite part about this bed is that it’s built to house a trundle underneath. All I can say is that I am blown away by her mad skills and can’t wait to see how the room comes together!

Personalized Step Stool

With two young children, I can attest to the fact that a stool is a necessity in the bathroom and can also be helpful if you’ve a little chef in the kitchen. While plastic stools get the job done, they just aren’t nearly as pleasing to the eye as a personalized wood stool like this one from Jaime at That’s My Letter. Jaime followed plans from Ana White to build her stool for next to nothing using scraps she had on hand. The hand painted personalization is just the icing on the cake!

Kids Play Kitchen

When Mable from Lilato Laka came across a retro kitchen at Pottery Barn Kids, it was love at first sight. Of course, the price wasn’t all that lovable, so Mable pulled out her tools! For a grand total of $60, Mable transformed a used entertainment center into her daughter’s dream kitchen that is complete with tile, a window, a dishwasher, and tons of other kitchen gadgets. Mable is new to woodworking so you can only imagine her pride in building a piece her daughter loves and plays on for hours!
