Morena of Morena’s Corner shares at Crafts Unleashed how she as inspired to create her own burlap ornaments. She says, “I adore the simplicity and versatility of burlap. I saw these adorable printed burlap ornaments in a catalog and decided to make my own. You can easily make several of these homemade ornaments in one sitting, and they would make lovely gifts that would be cherished for many Christmases to come!”
Sarah from Life on Virginia Street had her heart set on a wood bead chandelier for her office. Unfortunately, the price tags on the fixtures Sarah loved weren’t cooperating with her design plans. Sarah instead landed on plan B – refabbing an existing fixture. Equipped with spray paint, chalk paint, and wax, Sarah turned a nickel chandelier with green and purple beads into a pretty convincing knock-off. Would you ever guess those aren’t real wood beads?!?
Debra from Mountain Breaths had been eyeing an iron bed for her guest room. She says, “I love the early 20th century time worn iron bedsteads. You may have heard me squealing when I found a similar one for ten dollars.” Yep, you heard right – $10! Debra pretty much stole both the headboard and footboard from a garage sale for only ten bucks. All the pieces needed were a light sanding and coat of spray paint, and now they’re ready to receive guests!
Even a cross-country move cannot squelch the design and DIY savvy of Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey. The girl is uber talented! Sarah busted just enough of her tools out of boxes to create this modern tripod floor lamp from copper piping. DIYing an entire lamp may sound challenging, but believe me when I say that Sarah’s tutorial makes it as easy as pie!
