Toile and Houndstooth Table Runner

For only an hour of your time, Amy from Joyful Daisy shows how you can save $150-$175 on a table runner just like one from her beloved MacKenzie-Childs. Amy was thrilled when she came across a green toile fabric her mom had purchased years ago for a forgotten project and paired with her own houndstooth fabric to make this table runner for only $1. Amy says, “This adorable table runner would make a perfect gift for mom with Mother’s Day right around the corner, and you could even top it off with a fresh bouquet of flowers.”

Stunning Slatted Wood Bench

Becki and Chris of The Uncommon Common Law were this year’s winner of Creating with the Stars at East Coast Creative. And looking at this stunning bench they made, it’s not too hard to see why! The couple recreated the infamous Nelson Bench for only $136, and it’s a dead ringer for the original. I simply love the look of the natural maple and ebony legs and am amazed by Becki and Chris’ workmanship. Gorgeous!

Lora from Craftivity Designs has always loved a striped runner and was dreaming of one for her office. The Birmingham Black Woven Cotton Rug from Dash and Albert is one of her favorites, but $133 was more than Lora wanted to spend. On a trip to IKEA, she spotted the Soften Rug which had dark gray and white strips just like her inspiration rug. One rug was too small, so Lora picked up two and stitched them together with some fishing line. Now Lora has that 10-foot-long striped runner she was dreaming about for only $50!

Trash-to-Treasure Fabric Magnet Board

Amy from Joyful Daisy just loves MacKenzie Childs’ whimsical furniture and home accents; however, many of the prices are deal breakers! This trash-to-treasure magnet board with magnets only cost Amy $10 for the tack and duck tape. Everything else she had on hand, including the old baking sheet that makes the board magnetic. Here’s what Amy has to say about her DIY memo board: “It is a very simple project that can be done in an afternoon and will add so much happiness to your décor and create a functional place to hang favorite photos and momentos. This is also a great gift idea!”
