“Stash Buster” Easter Bunny Pillow

Nicole from Shabby Beach Nest was floored when she saw the price of a bunny pillow that her daughter wanted to get for Easter – $75!  Nicole says, “I knew I could make this pillow on the cheap, and boy was I right. This pillow cost me a whopping $0.” I love Nicole’s resourcefulness in using the fabric from an old shirt and dress for her pillow. It cost her nothing and repurposed some items from her stash.

Burlap Easter Napkin Rings

You may remember the bunny ear napkin rings shared here on KOD a couple of weeks ago. Well, Trish from Uncommon Designs also couldn’t pass up on the adding some major cuteness to her table this Easter with a set of the napkin rings. Trish’s technique results in a seamless finish with bunny ears that are super sturdy and will not fray. Plus, she says they are easy to make and may not cost you a penny if you’ve got the materials on hand like she did!

Glitter Dragonfly Ornament

As expressed in one of her favorite poems, dragonflies hold a special meaning to Gail from Purple Hues and Me. So she was delighted to hack a cute, glittery green caterpillar dragonfly that she saw at Pier 1. The Easter ornament was easily duplicated using basic craft items Gail had on hand. Don’t they look like little dragonfly twins {giggle}?

Salt Dough Robin’s Eggs

While switching out her Valentine’s décor for spring, Emily from life{illustrated} decided she needed some eggs to complete her vignette. Right away. Out came the flour, salt, water, and food coloring, and Emily whipped up a batch a pretty blue robin’s eggs lickety split! Emily’s eggs look so much more natural to me than their rather plasticy counterpart.

Decorative Spring Baskets

Sherry from Pondered Primed Perfected put a fresh spin on a project she completed last summer upcycling strawberry cartons. This go-round Sherry dressed up the cartons with pastel paint, glitter, and ribbons for a look that’s befitting of spring and Easter. Sherry’s steps result in a durable, waterproof finish so the containers can be used again and again as tabletop décor, mini Easter baskets, and even gift baskets for friends.
