Best of PB #5: Vintage Breadboard Kitchen iPad Stand

I love the convenience of having tons of recipes right at my fingertips with the internet and electronic texts.

What I don’t like is the idea of my pricey device lying on the counter where all kinds of destructive forces are at work.

That’s where this tablet stand made by Angie and Colby from Angie’s Roost comes in handy!

I love that it looks like a vintage breadboard, and would you believe it only cost Angie and Colby $5 to make???

The original inspiration came from the Cuisine Tablet Recipe Holder from Pottery Barn.

Angie shows you exactly how to make your own at Angie’s Roost.

I’m sorry but I find it confusing that you opened an etsy shop with this item yet are selling it for the same price as the pottery barn version. I’m quite disappointed.

    • Angie says:

Oh…and not to mention all the credit card fees that we’re charged plus Etsy fees and boxes and packing materials to ship the product. Believe me…we don’t make much off the stands!

    • Angie says:

Melissa…when we made the knockoff we used materials that we had hanging around the house which is why it cost us only $5 to make. They were all scrap materials except for the large piece of wood. But to sell them in the Etsy shop, we had to purchase all of the materials to make them including stain, hinges, screws, poly, and even things like brushes, sanding discs and even tools (we’ve killed two sanders so far making them for the shop). Plus they take awhile to make and wanted to pay ourselves at least minimum wage. I’m sorry you feel disappointed, but we’re just trying to make a living.

Wow – they did an amazing job! I admit, this is one that I’ve been wanting to knock off, and now they have given the plans to make it easier – thanks!

This is such a cute idea, I can’t wait to try it. English Major nitpick…it’s “lying” on the counter, not “laying” (as my teachers used to say and I say to my kids: Unless it’s a hen, it’s not laying…)

    • Beckie says:

Ha! Thanks, Sandi. They get me every time. I am obviously not an English major {wink}!

    • Malvis says:

      Haha, cute way to remember.
