Lamp Makeover a la Pottery Barn

While on a shopping trip in Pottery Barn, Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage found a lamp and shade that she loved. The bad news is they were quite pricey. The good news is Gina is a pro at creating a “cheaper alternative,” like mimicking a $159+ lamp for less than $10 using secondhand finds. Gina’s revamped lamp is just as lovely as her inspiration but is even better since Gina translated words from one of hubby’s love notes for the script. Oohlala!

DIY Kitchen Tablet Stand (Without Cutting a Piece of Wood!)

All my regular readers know I love a good repurpose and some outside-the-box thinking, which likely explains my excitement over this tablet holder created by Jane of Mamie Jane’s. Jane didn’t have to cut a single piece of wood to create her stand thanks to her mad repurposing skills. She simply glued a Scrabble tile holder to the front of a thrift store cutting board and a child’s wooden triangle block to the back and called it a day! Genius!
