Have you been to a flea market or a thrift store recently? There are so many orphaned headboards from beds of all sizes that you can purchase for very little money. If you’re longing to take these little treasures home but you have no idea what you’d do with them once you got them there, see what Sausha from sweetpickinsfurniture has done with some old headboards she had been saving in her garage.
She cut the legs off each headboard and then she sanded them and primed them for painting. After painting, she used a crackling glaze and distressed the wood. Once the paint was dry, Sausha attached hooks in several places onto the headboard and hung it on the wall.
These unique organizers can be used in the bathroom for hanging towels, in the kitchen for hanging pots, pans, and even aprons, and in a kid’s room for hanging clothes. They would even be adorable hanging outside with garden tools.
