A wall shelf is an important part of your decor. It can be both functional as well as beautiful. We all need extra shelf space in at least one room in our home, and Gail from myrepurposedlife shows us how to create a lovely wall shelf from an old headboard. Any solid headboard will work for this project.
First, Gail cut off the legs from the headboard. Then she cut 2 oval pieces from an old table top to fit across the headboard and secured them to the headboard. Although Gail used pieces cut from another project, any board can be cut to size to create the shelves for the headboard. Because the headboard would need more clearance to hang from the wall, Gail nailed some pieces of scrap lumber to the back and then added the D rings for hanging.
Finally, she painted the entire piece with two coats of a semi-gloss paint in a deep grey color.
