Have you noticed that pom poms are everywhere? They appear in all sizes and used to decorate in many different ways. If you’ve seen this trend in home goods stores, you’ve probably also noticed that because they’re the hot new thing, they are also quite pricey.
Angie from postcardsfromtheridge decided to make her own pom poms and create a beautiful garland with them, and she shows us how in her tutorial. This project can be completed quickly with only a few readily accessible and inexpensive materials. All you need to create 8 large pom poms are 2 skeins of thick yarn and scissors. The yarn is wound around the palm of your hand 50 times or more for a fuller pom pom. The yarn is then secured by knotting the ends, and it is cut from the skein.
You now have a ring of yarn that you’ll cut through the center and fluff out. After you’ve done this 8 times, secure the pom poms to a braided piece of yarn and you’re done!
