Have you noticed that even the most simple object can be ridiculously expensive if you purchase it at a high-end store? Michelle from acraftymix fell in love with a wine barrel top that was made into a tray but was put off by the price so she made her own.
This is a relatively simple project, and since she used recycled wood, the total cost was next to nothing for Michelle. In her tutorial, Michelle explains exactly how she created her rustic alternative to the pricey tray. Using a pen and string method, Michelle drew a circle the size she wanted on a sheet of hardboard and cut it out. She then adhered this circle onto the slats of wood she had already glued and screwed together. Using a jigsaw, Michelle cut out the circle. Scraps of wood were then joined to the outside of the circle to create a lip on the tray.
After adding a metal band to the outside, stenciling lettering, and varnishing, the project was done.
