Chevron Beach Tote

Your sun-loving mom will look fab walking across the beach with this stylish chevron tote from Jaime at That’s My Letter. Jaime’s tote features a fun navy chevron print with fuchsia monogram, drop cloth canvas lining, and rope handle. In all honesty, I would choose Jamie’s bag hands-down over her inspiration from Pottery Barn Teen!

Drop Cloth Bag

Jennifer from Jennifer’s Mentionables was leafing through her Pottery Barn spring catalog when some burlap bags caught her eye. Jennifer knew she could put her new sewing skills to work and create her own version of the little bag. She used a bag she already had as a model and created this drop cloth bag, or as she says, “a sewing project to hold my other sewing projects.” It looks like Jennifer’s sewing is coming right along!

Kid’s Collapsible Teepee

diy teepee

I am betting most kids would love to have their own play teepee, but, as a parent, you may be wondering where in the world you could easily store a seven foot teepee in your house.  Lindsay of Lindsay and Drew has the answer with this space-saving, collapsible teepee she created out of PVC pipe and drop cloth. Pull it out for hours of fun and then easily store it when you’re done!

Felt Leaf Tree Skirt

felt leaf tree skirt

Remember that pretty felt wreath pillow from yesterday? Well, Jody from Homey Home Design loved it so much she decided to whip up a matching tree skirt this year. Jody sewed a simple tree skirt and then added her felt leaves and pom poms with fabric glue. If just the thought of making your own tree skirt wears you out, Jody encourages that it was much simpler and took less time than expected. Maybe she’ll add stockings to the collection next year!

Felt Wreath Pillow

Here is a beautiful, yet super simple, DIY holiday pillow from Jody at Homey Home Design that features a felt wreath with pom pom berries on a drop cloth pillow cover. I love how Jody shows that you don’t have to be a master seamstress to make a pretty pillow. A little fabric glue does the job quite nicely with this wreath!

Ornament Table Runner

ballard inspired hanging ornament table runner

Vanessa from At the Picket Fence has made the official shift from fall to Christmas in her home with this Ballard-inspired table runner. The $15 price tag is much more palatable to my wallet than Ballard’s $79 asking price, and you may be able to whittle it down even more if you’ve got some drop cloth and fabric remnants on hand.  Isn’t it cute how the ornaments appear to be hanging off the table?

Stenciled Feed Sack Pillow

santa faux grain sack pillow

Pillows made from authentic feed sacks can cost a pretty penny, but Char from Crap I’ve Made shows it’s pretty simple to get the same look for less. Char created her pillow cover from drop cloth and then jollied it up with a stenciled Old Saint Nick. She scuffed up the image with sandpaper for a well-worn, vintage feel. No, it’s not made from a fifty-year-old grain sack, but, personally, I’d rather have a pillow customized with my choice of graphic, text, color, etc.!

Fabric and Ribbon Corkboards

pb inspired corkboard

Heather of Fake-It Frugal scored an awesome deal on some corkboards last summer, paying only 75 cents each! They were just your plain old basic corkboards… that is until Heather jazzed them up with fabric, ribbon and beaded trim. We can all use a little more organization in our lives, and it might as well be pretty to boot!
