What do you do when you want a round dining table and your spouse wants a square? Meet in the middle and build an octagon-shaped table!
That’s exactly how the story went for Diana from Down Oxford Street and her husband. After a little compromise, they decided to build this gorgeous table following plans from Ana White.
Diana says, “I’m very happy with how the table turned out. I will admit when I saw how many angles it needed I got a little intimidated but with the right tools and handy man (or woman) it’s a piece of cake. “
The original inspiration came from the Benchwright Fixed Pedestal Dining Table from Pottery Barn.
Here is the table’s base taking form:
Diana and her husband used wood glue and a nail gun to secure each piece together.
For the chairs, Diana decided to go with the metal chairs that she picked up at Target. She was never 100% sold on them but figured they will do just fine for now.
She will be the first to admit when she saw how many angles it needed she got a little intimidated, but with the right tools and handy man (or woman) it’s a piece of cake.
