Back in the 70’s Susan from Homeroad could macramé with the best of them. This proved to be quite the useful skill when she laid eyes on demijohns covered with jute in a catalog. Susan had the perfect antique bottle to make her own and got to work with her waxed string. With just a bottle and some string, Susan was able to create a high-end decorative accent piece. All hail the macramé champ!
Susan was inspired by the Jute Covered Demijohn from Ballard Designs.

i have almost finished my macrame whiskey bottle for my father who participates in revolutionary reenactments. i don't have any pictures to send you as of yet for i know not how to send them via email...the bottle is about six inches across and ten inches deep...so far there are about 800 knots in it and will quickly surpass the thousand knot mark soon...it is quite unique and i have come up with a great method for changing the circumference of the knots around the bottle while keeping uniform gaps between the knots...email me if you have questions....it was great to see your work....brent
