These lace-trimmed curtains are a wonderful knock-off from the original Anthropologie version.
Follow these few easy steps to make your own designer-looking panels at an affordable price. And this one’s actually pretty fun!
Project Background
Katie from Upcycled Treasures has been working on a master bedroom makeover and fell in love with lace-trimmed curtains from Anthropologie.
Lace-trimmed curtains that cost almost $200 per panel! Ouch! Katie set out on a mission to get the same look for less.
However, when her search for affordable lace trim came up dry, Katie realized she still had lace table runners left over from her wedding reception.
Katie “dyed” the runners with a mixture of paint and fabric medium and then sewed them onto the edge of inexpensive grommet curtains.
I love that Katie’s pretty panels have a little sentimentality behind them. So lovely!
Project Tips
Of course, you can choose whatever color dye you love or that fits your decor.
You may not even have to dye if you opt for a white trim or find trim in colors you prefer.
Either way, you’re taking some mundane panels and adding hundreds of dollars of “design” to them DIY style!
Katie was inspired by the Ombre Lace Curtains from Anthropologie.

They look lovely, Katie! And I just adore the fact that you were able to repurpose the runners from your wedding. It just makes them all the sweeter. :-)
