Reeves became determined to replicate it for a fraction of the cost and did an UH-mazing job! She says, “Calculating measurements and taping out the design definitely took up the […Read More]

Mod Pet Food Stand with Hairpin Legs

Modern dog bowl stand with hairpin legs

Tanya from Dans le Lakehouse was tired of watching her tall Komondor pup “strain like a brontosaurus” to reach her food and water bowls. She says, “Hubs and I decided she could use a raised bowl stand. I decided that it should be mid-century modern inspired. And turquoise. With hairpin legs… As adorable as the […Read More]

Faceted Pendant Light

Kelly from View Along the Way has a major crush on faceted lighting and décor. Fortunately, she also has a brilliant husband with mad woodworking skills who was able to create this dodecahedron light fixture, which is made of “30 pieces of wood cut at very exact, weird angles.” My head hurts just thinking about it! Kelly’s whole laundry room makeover is simply stunning, but this little light steals the show!

Decorative Wood Sphere

The thrifty lady over at Fifty Five South was inspired to amp up her use of decorative accessories that reflect the rustic, earthy style she loves. When she saw an “incredibly easy and cheap West Elm knock-off DIY project” that involved layering embroidery hoops to make a sphere, she couldn’t help but “pounce” on it. The hoops only cost her $2.20, making this a project that can’t be beat when it comes to ease or expense.

Geometric Rectangles Daybed

Erin from One Project at a Time couldn’t help but do “a little happy dance” when she found plans for a geometric daybed over at Ana White. It was just the bed she had been wanting for her baby’s nursery, and Erin was more than thrilled to save some cash through DIY. She pretty much sums it up when she says, “The best thing about DIY is with a little courage and practice you can have West Elm taste on a Kmart budget.”

There is no question why Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic is head over heals for the new desk she built following plans from Ana White. After adding her fifth little one to the brood, Whitney needed a work space in her master bedroom that was both functional and pretty. This desk definitely fits the bill and, amazingly, only cost Whitney $55 to build!

Heart Tree Wall Art

heart_tree_art

On Infarrantly Creative I recently shared this heart tree wall art that I created as a baby shower gift for a friend. I love all the bright colors and modern style of this piece and think it will be a great fit for the nursery. I definitely couldn’t have pulled it off without my Silhouette Cameo! Maybe it’s just me, but I think Land of Nod’s Love Tree and my Heart Tree may have been twins separated at birth {wink}.
