Popcorn Tin to Pet Food Canister

A big bag of pet food can be quite the eyesore in your home, and Ballard Designs offers the perfect solution with their stylish food storage containers. However, at $55-$59 a piece, Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs says you might as well just keep the food in the bag or make your own stylish pet food bin. Of course, crafty sister Erin chose the latter of the two! She hit up the thrift store for a popcorn tin and updated it with some horizontal painted stripes. The canister even has Erin’s Golden Retriever’s seal of approval, so you know it must be pretty awesome {Wink}!

Painted Buffet with a “Good Old Fashioned Wash”

As soon as Sue from Gracefully Restored Furniture saw this mid-century modern buffet, she knew it was “crying out for a good old fashioned wash.” She took her first stab at the process by painting the buffet with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Paris Grey, creating a wash with Graphite, and topping it off with some clear and dark wax. Metal and Wood Bathroom Shelf

Aly from Entirely Eventful Day wanted a beautiful weathered wood étagère from Restoration Hardware for her master bathroom. The problem? She didn’t have $700 to purchase it. What Aly did have was an old, metal, over-the-toilet shelving system. Aly refabbed the shelf with a fresh coat of glossy white paint and some wood to give it a more substantial and expensive look like her inspiration.
