When it comes to finding just the right curtains, there are so many things to consider – sheer, semi-sheer, lined, unlined, 84”, 96”, 108”, patterned, solid, grommet, pole pocket… And sometimes finding just what you want can seem downright impossible! That’s when the possibility sewing your own custom curtains starts looking pretty good, and Carissa of Carissa Miss shows that it doesn’t have to break the bank! Carissa found curtains that she loved for her daughter’s nursery, but they fell short in many ways. By sewing her own curtains, Carissa was able to add the grommets and lining she wanted and get the perfect width and length for her space!
Carissa was inspired by the Zig Zag Curtain from Urban Outfitters.
Carissa tells you exactly how she made her own curtains at Carissa Miss.

These are such a good addition to the room. I love the pattern and would definitely try something like this for curtains in my home.

This is perfect, I'm so terribly picky about curtains that there are still too many naked windows in my house in which people outside might be able to glimpse my butt.

Thanks so much for this drapery post. It comes at a perfect time as I am about to make panels for my son's room. I had not thought of grommets, and the fabric.com website is a great resource as well. Her drapes turned out so well. Thank you!
