Spray Painted Sconces and Lamp Shades

Laura from Inspiration for Moms wanted to add some new lighting in her son’s updated bedroom for bedtime reading. She found just the look she wanted in some sconces from PB Teen and remembered that she happened to have some old sconces stored away. The only problem was that they were the wrong color and needed new shades. Nothing a little spray paint couldn’t handle! Laura ended up making her knockoff lighting for about $20 total, which is a savings of $350 from her inspiration!

Handpainted “Watercolor” Wall Art

With a new baby on the way, Camille from My Mommy Style has been busy planning her daughter’s big girl room. She was inspired to create her own colorful, beach house style wall art using retro wall paneling and paint. Thanks to the carefree style of the art and forgiving surface of the paneling, Camille was able to freehand the design for a pretty convincing knockoff.

Get Organized with a Family Command Center

With a growing family, Sarah of My Simple Obsession was in need of a command center to keep track of her family’s numerous appointments and notes. She loved one from Pottery Barn but says, “…no way would I ever pay $500 dollars or even close to that for a command center that I could make myself.  So I did! And for a fraction of that price!!” I just love Sarah’s “Pin it” corkboard tile and how she spruced up her board with fabric rosette thumbtacks and a bunting. So cute!

Chevron Beach Tote

Your sun-loving mom will look fab walking across the beach with this stylish chevron tote from Jaime at That’s My Letter. Jaime’s tote features a fun navy chevron print with fuchsia monogram, drop cloth canvas lining, and rope handle. In all honesty, I would choose Jamie’s bag hands-down over her inspiration from Pottery Barn Teen!

Hand Painted Market Sign

Heidi from All That Brings Joy was inspired by all the different hand painted, antique looking signs she’s seen around Pottery Barn for the last year or two to finally tackle her own. She decided to make one for her kitchen and went with the word market. With the little amount of wood and paint required for this project, Heidi was able to do it without spending any money.

Cupkateer Ananda knew as soon as she saw some felt pillows from PB Teen that she could replicate them for cheap. Pottery Barn charges a whopping $39 for one of their pretty pillows, but crafty ladies like Ananda know that felt’s hardly that expensive! The Cupkateer version? $5! Ananda even breaks it down for you step-by-step with patterns and all so you can make your own!

Valentine’s Pallet Art

As shared on Infarrantly Creative, I gave my own little nod to Valentine’s Day by creating a piece of wall décor appropriate for the holiday but also versatile enough to claim a permanent home on my wall. I love the combination of the rustic pallet wood look and bright yellow ruffles. It’s completely unexpected and makes me smile every time I see it!
