Gina from The Shabby Creek Cottage created a beautiful DIY lamp inspired by a Pottery Barn design.
She started with a $7 thrift store lamp and a $2 shade, transforming them into a personalized piece.
The lamp base received a few coats of spray paint, followed by light distressing with fine-grit sandpaper.
To add depth, she applied a tan glaze, wiping it off in circular motions for a subtle, aged look.
For the shade, Gina printed a love letter in a large, elegant font and taped the words inside the shade.
With the lamp turned on, she traced the illuminated letters onto the outside using airbrush paint and a small brush.
Optional embellishments like postmarks can be added with rubber stamps for extra charm.
