Boston Subway Art

A close friend of Jeannine from The Concrete Cottage loved the Z Gallerie subway art and wanted to give it as a gift to her dad. When she asked if Jeannine could recreate it, she had a small list of requests: make it personalized, make it a bit less distressed, and make it for way cheaper than Z Gallerie’s! Done, done and done! Jeannnie was able to use her Silhouette, some paint, and a bit of chalk to create a one-of-a-kind gift that nearly brought her friend’s dad to tears!

Silver Leaf Tree

Toilet-Paper-Leaf-Tree-final-wlogo-3549.jpg

No one would ever guess the origin of the leaves on this metallic tree created by Mrs. Polly Rogers! Surprisingly, the classy silver leaves began as lowly brown toilet paper rolls. Here’s what Polly has to say about her new tree: “It’s a perfect centerpiece for events, parties, weddings, and decor.  It’s easy to make, and your friends will never guess the humble beginnings for your new decor!”

Silver Leaf Wreath

DollarTreeSilverWreath

I am loving some shiny silver this holiday season, so Johnnie’s metallic leaf wreath at Saved By Love Creations is right up my alley. Johnnie’s wreath is both stylish and gentle on the wallet, requiring just a few materials from the dollar store and a can of spray paint.

Eye Chart Wall Art

diy eye chart art

Like Rhiannon from Being Mom{me}, you probably don’t want to drop $80 for a piece of wall art, especially when your style might change next month, and even more especially when you can make it yourself for nothing! Rhiannon simply designed her own eye chart art on her computer, printed it out at home, and placed it in a frame she already had. Done! I love this saying and agree with one of Rhiannon’s readers that it would make an adorable wedding gift!

Beth from B & B Build A Life has a love for chevron and wanted to bring life to her drab cubicle with the bold pattern. She didn’t want to spend much and was able to create a painted chevron frame for only about $5. Beth says, “It was so easy, I actually did it while watching TV!”

Eye Chart Tray

Eye chart art has become crazy popular, and I am just loving this tray made by Val from Home Made Modern. You’ll be happy to know that the only tool you need to make your own is a pencil! Val shares a great technique for transferring images with just a pencil, and, as you can see from her tray, it works like a charm!

Flower Tealight Candle Holder

plastic spoon flower tealight holder

You wouldn’t think there’s too much more to a plastic spoon than what meets the eye. However, Gail from Purple Hues and Me shows just how beautiful they can become with a bit of heat. Gail softened the spoons over a flame so they were pliable and then formed them into a flower. With a [...Read More]

Vintage Graphic Art

ZgallerieInspiredPrintableSet1

Johnnie from Printable Décor added a splash of color to her space with a trio of graphic prints. I love how Johnnie took this idea and totally made it her own, customizing it to fit her interests. Johnnie is so good that her prints look even better than her inspiration!  She is also sweet enough [...Read More]
