Changing Table and Dresser That Grows With Baby

diy changing table dresser

Following plans from Ana White, Whitney at Shanty 2 Chic built this changing table and dresser for her oldest daughters’ former babysitter who is now all grown up and having a baby of her own. How sweet is that?!? The three large drawers offer plenty of storage space for diapers, wipes, swaddling blankets, and the like. I love how easily this piece of furniture can transition to a dresser when diaper changes are a thing of the past.

Turn a Coffee Table into a Kids Art Table

diy activity table

Laura of The Experimental Home had always wanted an activity table with a built-in roll of paper for her kids’ playroom. However, when Laura actually started decorating the space,  $200 and up seemed like a lot more money than when she was just dreaming about it. Laura decided to make her own out of an old coffee table instead. She spent around $15 on a cafe curtain rod, a roll of paper, and some big paper clips and about 15 minutes assembling the table. Sounds like a much wiser investment for a table that will undoubtedly see quite a few scribble marks in its lifetime!

Jamie from That’s My Letter and Ana White have joined forces to design and create building projects that would be make great gifts this holiday season. One of their gems is this mondo-sized clipboard easel. The clip is completely functional and the board is painted with chalkboard paint so kiddos can draw on it with chalk too! How awesome is that?!? My artistic daughter would go crazy over this!

Oversized Vintage Flashcard Art

flashcard playroom art

Our playroom is the first thing guests see as soon as they walk into our home. In an effort to spruce things up a bit, I have been giving the space a little TLC and making some changes, including knock-off wall art. Yesterday on Infarrantly Creative, I shared how I created these larger-than-life vintage flashcards. I love the clean look as well as the fact that they are humongo and take up a good bit of wall space on the cheap. Woot woot!

Dancing Skeleton Halloween Garland

skeleton garland

I know I am not alone when I say I love the dollar store. There are all sorts of hidden treasures in there. Sharon from The Blue Willow House found one of those treasures when she stumbled upon a plastic moveable skeleton that reminded her of a cute garland she’d been eyeing from Pottery Barn Kids. Sharon scooped up five packages and strung the dancing skeletons together in front of her fireplace. They look mighty happy about Sharon’s savings!

Not wanting to be left out of the Halloween decorating fun in her neighborhood, Lorraine from South Meets Southwest whipped up a few spooky signs to welcome trick-or-treaters to her house. Lorraine saved money by using wood from Home Depot’s scrap pile and paint she already had, making the grand total for all three signs $1.50! Lorraine says, “We might be the last house on our block to decorate for Halloween, but I am just glad I finished these signs before the first trick-or-treater arrived!”
