Metallic Paper Sunburst Mirror

While Aly from Entirely Eventful Day says she may be a dreamer, she’s also a realist. That’s why she decided to spend only $5 to make a starburst mirror instead of blowing hundreds on a trend that will eventually fade. How did she do it for only $5? Paper! Yeppers, Aly created her shiny beauties using thick metallic and sparkle paper. Aly’s tutorial is so easy and inexpensive it’s perfect for those who have been hesitant to jump on the sunburst mirror bandwagon.

Decorative Mirror with Scalloped Border

This summer Kristi from Addicted 2 Decorating devoted a month to making over a tiny bathroom in her condo. One of her DIY projects for the space was creating a decorative mirror with a pretty scalloped border for above the vanity. Kristi actually cut that pretty scalloped border from a piece of MDF she had on hand going at a snail’s pace with her jigsaw. Kristi’s final cost for the mirror was only $25, and she says even if you had to purchase the MDF it would be “a far cry from $334!!”

Bronze and Gold Starburst Mirror

I am not the only one to recently jump on the starburst mirror bandwagon. Debbie from One Day at a Time also recognized the popularity of these mirrors and wanted to get in on the fun. Debbie combined elements from a couple of her faves from Crate& Barrel to come up with a unique design that would work in her “1951 post-war cape cottage.” Debbie’s bronze-and-gold beauty was created using floral stakes, glue, and an octagon mirror for even more “50’s flair.”

Popsicle Stick Sunburst Mirror

Melissa from The Happier Homemaker finally jumped on the sunburst mirror bandwagon after seeing an inspiration piece by Ballard Designs made of bone. Melissa had the instant idea to use popsicle sticks and an old clock from her stash to recreate it. I don’t think you could ask for better rays than those popsicle sticks!
