Jeannine of The Concrete Cottage had a plain Target lamp shade lying around and decided to add a little pizzazz to it with some French script images and a fin tip Sharpie. The end product however, turned out to be a pretty close knock off to a Pottery Barn shade… who knew! Jeannine’s lampshade looks so amazing that it’s hard to believe it’s actually a very simply process!

Grace from An Adams Thing created her own mason jar chandelier after falling in love with its catalog counterpart. She deserves a huge pat on the back for literally making her very own light fixture. I’m sure Grace’s chandelier catches the attention of all her visitors!

What do you get when you combine a Wal-mart lampshade with a woven placemat? A Ballard look-a-like seagrass shade a la Tammy from A Walk in the Countryside! Tammy pulled off the transformation by first unraveling the placemat and then hot gluing it around the shade for some instant beautification and texture. I love this simple update for an old or plain lampshade!
