Spray Painted Étagère with Mirrored Shelves

Jen from Girl in the Garage recently completed her very first knock-off project, an étagère makeover inspired by Ballard Designs. Jen had gotten the étagère from her parents, and while it was in nice shape, it had too much shiny chrome for her liking. It was nothing a couple cans of spray paint couldn’t fix! Jen covered the chrome with a warm, bronze finish and even refabbed the glass shelves to have a mirrored effect just like those of her inspiration.

Wood Tile Dresser

Last week I told you all that it was Knockoff Round over at East Coast Creative’s Creating with the Stars competition. I am so thrilled to announce my girl Amanda from Love and Renovations brought home the gold with her wood tiled dresser {Squuueeeaaal!}. Amanda already had her sights set on recreating West Elm’s dresser and succeeded in bringing it to life with a flea market find and a pile of wood tiles. Behold its awesomeness….

Drop Cloth Upholstered Headboard with Nailhead Trim

Melissa of Two It Yourself says the most rewarding part of the master bedroom makeover she completed last year was the DIY upholstered headboard she made with the help of her sister Stephanie. Amazingly, the sisters were about to pull together this beautiful king-sized bed in only five hours and for close to $150. The mattress delivery guy didn’t even believe Melissa had really made the bed until she pulled out the leftover drop cloth as proof. That, my friends, is success!
