So for the next week I will be sharing DIY gift ideas sure to please everyone on your list – knock-off style of course!

Turn Burlap Scraps Into a Christmas Tree

Burlap is something pretty much every crafty person has on hand. Why not turn a scrap of that fabric into a rustic Christmas tree? Melissa from Two It Yourself made a cone using a piece of cardstock then hot glued on strips of burlap to create loops. Here’s what Melissa has to say about her little burlap tree: “This project was simple and it didn’t cost me a dime because I had everything on hand.  Even if you don’t have burlap in your stash at home, you can still get by making this project for less than $5…”

Easy 15-Minute Ribbon Christmas Trees

Carrie from Making Lemonade and a few blogging buddies collaborated to come up with simple holiday ideas called Christmas in a Minute. One of those fabulous ideas is a ribbon Christmas tree that you can make in literally 15 minutes! Carrie says, “Have a few minutes? Great, then you can create these easy ribbon looped Christmas trees that make perfect holiday decor for tables, mantels, buffets, and even window sills.” I love how easy it is to customize this project to fit your holiday color scheme.

Thrift Store Lamp Makeover with Chalk Paint

Jenny from Evolution of Style came across a couple of lamps that both boasted unique architectural bases, distressed finishes… and two hundred dollar price tags! She then came across a lamp base with a similar shape from Goodwill for only $4.99 and knew she could work some magic on it with chalk paint. Jenny layered two colors to create a beautiful weathered effect that also happens to remind me of Restoration Hardware’s delectable finishes.

Oversized Peace Wreath from Sticks

Jamie from C.R.A.F.T. decided to go BIG with her wreath this holiday season. She started out with an outdated grapevine wreath from the thrift store that was covered with silk flowers. After removing all the flowers, Jamie used sticks from her backyard to create a peace sign with the wreath form. I always love a non-traditional wreath, and you can’t deny that this three-foot one makes quite the statement above Jamie’s mantel!
