Sew Your Own Pintuck Duvet Cover

Tigan of Blake & Tigan purchased a dreamy, cloud-like pintucked duvet cover from West Elm that she totally loved. That is until she felt how scratchy it was and realized how easily it ripped. Boo! Tigan sent that duvet cover packing and decided she would just have to DIY to get the job done right. Tigan used a plain pre-made duvet cover and sewed her own pintucks – all 123 of them! She then added a button to each pintuck to ensure they would hold strong. Despite the time-consuming process, Tigan says she couldn’t be more pleased with how her pleated duvet cover came out!

Vintage Floral and Gingham Kitchen Towel

There’s only so much decorating you can do in a kitchen, so it’s fun when you can add flair through simple things like your kitchen towels. Jen from Eat.Sleep.Make sewed up a vintage-style kitchen towel that features a large floral motif and gingham print. Jen went all out with the details, sewing all around the applique, adding “rough lines” with a Sharpie, and blanket-stitching the edge for a pop of color and texture.

Felt Origami Throw Pillow

Tiffany at The Little Waffleflower shares my love for a pretty pillow, and this felt origami throw pillow ranks up there as one of her favorite DIYs. I sure can see why. It looks identical to her West Elm inspiration! I love that this pillow goes with absolutely anything yet isn’t plain or boring. The folded felt creates tons of texture and interest.
