I am a momma who loves donning a showy piece of jewelry or hair accessory, so it’s no wonder this feather headband from Michelle at Daydream Believer caught my eye. Michelle fell head over heals for a similar piece from Anthropologie, saying, “It was love at first sight! The color, the shape. It had an edge but was still feminine. I just dug it.” BUT it was $288! With a scrap of leather, a little ribbon, and a strand of beads or stones, Michelle made her own for only $5. At that price, you can make several for all the special ladies you’d like to honor for Mother’s Day!

Bev from Flamingo Toes can hardly resist the “siren call” of Anthropologie’s jewelry, and who can blame her??? They’ve got beautiful baubles galore! Fortunately, Bev shares how you can recreate the look with this pretty cuff bracelet that’s full of color and texture. Bev started out with a plain cuff and embellished it with ribbon, fabric, buttons, brooches, and the like. This is the perfect gift for a mom who loves a little bling!

This morning I shared some pretty sewn paper envelopes that add an extra special touch to a note or card. I love the idea of taking it a step further and giving Mom a set of handmade envelopes and stationary with pretty pens like these from The Casual Craftlete. Katie dressed up some cheapo pens she’d gotten for free from banks and other businesses with yarn and twine. Sometimes, it’s the little things, like a pom-pom on the end of your pen, that make the day a little brighter!

Bethany from Dwellings by DeVore decided to jump on the bandwagon and try her hand at creating graphic artwork a la West Elm. Bethany says she literally just did a couple of brush strokes across a piece of poster board and then popped her new abstract art into a frame once it was dry. She says, “I think it took me about 5 minutes to complete. You can’t beat that for quick and easy.”
