Thrift Store Geometric Coaster Transformation

For a grand total of $3, Sonnet of SohoSonnet was able to create her own set of colorful, geometric coasters. Sonnet started with a set of Christmas coasters she picked up at the thrift store for $2. She says they were just “screaming” for a makeover and that’s exactly what Sonnet gave them with wood grain paper and paint. It just goes to show that there’s a lot more than meets the eye on those thrift store shelves! With a little creativity, you can have Anthropologie-inspired coasters for a mere $3!

Mid-Century Modern Dresser “Patchwork” Makeover

Sarah from Funcycled planned to refinish a mid-century modern dresser and wanted to do something outside-the-box. Sarah and her husband got to work sanding the dresser, painting the box white, and then staining the drawers in a variety of finishes. I love the contrast of the crisp white paint and stain. This is such a fun, statement-making piece!

Tame Paper Clutter with Linen Pin Boards

Kris from Driven by Décor had been eyeing Restoration Hardware’s linen pin boards and knew they’d be the answer to her organizing dreams. They are perfect for taming coupons, invitations, magazine clippings, and all the other papers that like to clutter counters and desks!

Tree Stump to Metallic Side Table

Sarah from Sarah M. Dorsey Designs knew exactly what to do with a tree that had fallen down in her backyard – turn it into a shapely, hand-chiseled accent table! Sarah enlisted the help of her husband David, and the couple worked together to remove the bark, cut angles into the stump, sand it smooth, and finally finish it off with paint and glaze. Like Sarah, I love how the glaze brings out the detail of the wood!

A Plain Pillow Gets Pizzazz with Tassels

Tara from Suburble shares at Crafts Unleashed how she added interest to an otherwise plain white pillow in less than an hour. Tara had long admired Anthropologie’s tassel pillow but immediately knew she could try her hand at it. It was just easy as she thought using tassels designed for jewelry-making.
